Comfort Doesn’t Have to Mean Boring: Kids Edition


Comfort is key. Especially when it comes to babies, parents want to make sure their kids are in the most comfortable clothing, soft and safe fabrics and accessories, and also easy to remove clothing so a parent can change diapers easily. For toddlers, parents want clothes that their kids can run around and play in easily. For boys, this could be a good pair of shorts and a nice t-shirt and for girls Tights for Girls that are stretchy and colorful are ideal.  

In the past parents had to choose between comfort and fashion for their babies. This was when the only fashionable options where bedazzled, lacy and/or itchy fabric and the only comfortable options were bland white or dull colored onesies. But the fashion industry for kids has continued to evolve and parent can now have comfortable clothes that are also bright and well designed for their kids.

Parents now have the option of beautiful stylish clothes to buy for their babies and toddlers. So while shopping for your baby or styling them remember comfort doesn’t have to be boring. Dress your baby up in colorful onesies or colorful tights for girls. When it comes to colors, always try to think outside the box. If have a boy, all his clothes don’t have to be blue and if you have a girl all her clothes don’t have to be pinky.

When shopping for your baby, don’t stick to conventional colors and limit your options. Pink and blue are pretty colors but so is yellow, teal, purple, peach, orange etc. These gender neutral colors not only make your baby stand out they are also easy to repurpose. There are so many beautiful colors that look great on kids. Some daring parents even go for black and it always turns out really beautiful. Thinking outside the box for colors also means mixing and matching colors. Go big if you dare and you will be rewarded. Don’t stick to the convention. Pair a yellow skirt with a pink t-shirt or pink pants with a blue sneaker.

A quick tip to keep in mind is the rule of 3. Don’t use more than 3 colors in the same outfit. Also, don’t be afraid to mix and match prints. Prints are beautiful, give character and have the ability to make an outfit pop and garner attention effortlessly. Prints also photography really well so keep that in mind for your next baby photo shoot. Now not everyone has the natural inclination to mix prints so here are some tips on how to mix and match prints to create a fashion forward and beautiful outfit for your kid/kids.

Mix prints and patterns with the same color, for example, you can pair a red polka dot dress with red striped leggings. The color helps tie it all together. In the same vein, mix different colors of the same pattern. Mix same but different sized prints. Big circles with little circles and large stripes with skinny stripes. When it comes to stripes, go vertical and horizontal with the same outfit.

One of the major things that go into preparing for a bay is shopping for a new baby or preparing a toddler for school is shopping. From the minute a baby is being expected parents especially moms start thinking of all the shopping they’ll have to do for baby items, clothes, accessories and other newborn, maternity, and nursing paraphernalia. The budget for preparing for a baby is no walk in the park.

Many young couples wait till they’ve saved enough before thinking of having a baby and other are very strategic in preparing for the baby. Being wise about how to shop for a baby goes a long way in not only saving money but in not being overwhelmed or over buying things.

With the rise of consumerism and so many aesthetically pleasing baby items, clothes, accessories, shoes etc it pays to have a game plan going in so you don’t end up splurging on frivolities or on items you don’t really need while the basic are left wanting.

This also holds true for toddlers. Because toddlers grow so quickly, they grow out of their clothes and shoes in months and even weeks. So you shouldn’t buy the same size clothes in bulk. Buy some bigger sizes so you don’t have to rush to the store anytime they outgrow an outfit or pair of shoe. Have a Strategy For Baby Clothes. Don’t buy too many small sizes.

I know newborn clothes are cute and you just want to stack up on them but you need to resist the urge to buy cool looking clothes in these small sizes. Babies grow quickly and it’s better to have a bigger size that you can roll up the sleeves and the baby gets to grow into it instead of being stuck with sizes too small don’t do this for shoes though.

Always buy the right size. It’s advisable to stock up on onesies that come in soft cotton material instead of buying those cool looking jeans or that dress for a 3-month-old. These overly busy outfits would most likely make your newborn uncomfortable as well. Stick with the simple and soft onesies and for girls, you can style them with a baby girl headband for outings or photo shoots. Also, always remember to do your Research. This particularly is very important when it comes to baby gear and gadgets. There are a lot of bells and whistles as to what’s needed and doing research will save you time.

In addition, doing your research will save you a lot of money because gadgets are expensive and spending a buck on something that turns out not needed or of poor quality will be a great disappointment for you as that money could be diverted to something ended. Weigh your pros and cons, look at old or cheaper models and very importantly check the reviews, reviews, reviews! Don’t just read the good reviews but read the bad reviews to see if the bad reviews complain about something you can live with if you buy the item.

Researching should not stop on gadgets alone, research on everything you can and gain more knowledge to help you as you shop and as you plan for your baby or toddler.
